Tubular heating elements

A tubular heating element – also called a tubular heater, sheathed element or tubular resistance – is a resistance wire embedded in high-purity magnesium oxide inside a metal tube, compacted by rolling and bent to shape. BALÇIK TORMEC has designed and manufactured tubular heating elements in Ankara since 1959 for appliance and equipment OEMs in more than 60 countries.

Frequently asked questions

Short, direct answers.

What is a tubular heating element?

A resistance wire insulated by compacted MgO inside a metal sheath, bent to the required shape. It is also called a tubular heater, sheathed element or tubular resistance.

Tubular heater vs. tubular resistance – is there a difference?

No. Both terms describe the same sheathed electric heating element; 'tubular resistance' is common in Turkish- and Italian-English usage.

Which sheath material should I choose?

It depends on the medium and sheath temperature: Incoloy® 800 or AISI 321 for radiant oven duty, AISI 316L or nickel-diffusion coated stainless for detergent water, nickel-plated copper for soft water.

What certifications does BALÇIK TORMEC hold?

ISO 9001:2015 since 2001 (Bureau Veritas) and VDE marks approvals to DIN EN 60335-1 for certified element families since 2009. RoHS and REACH declarations are available.

How fast can you deliver samples?

Functional samples typically 2–4 weeks after drawing approval; derivatives of existing designs are faster.

Quotation

Have a drawing, a sample or just a requirement?

Share application, power, voltage and quantity, attach a drawing or photo. We confirm receipt; the responsible engineer or sales manager answers as soon as the technical details are clear.
